Screen-to-Builder Labs

Free or low-cost after-school and weekend cohorts for grades 5–9. Students transform passive screen habits into purposeful technology creation — building robots, designing 3D prototypes, using AI responsibly, and pitching solutions to real community problems.

We track whether students report healthier technology habits and more purposeful creation. We do not claim to treat addiction or mental illness.

How we scale

PHASE 1
Pilot — 2 cohorts, 32–48 students, one school or community partner, pre/post surveys, demo day.
PHASE 2
Community Lab — 6–10 cohorts a year, parent workshops, mentor training, annual impact report.
PHASE 3
Mobile Creator Lab — portable kits, printers, and laptop carts rotating through underserved communities.
PHASE 4
Train-the-Mentor — certified instructors, partner toolkit, a replicable model for other cities.
